Oxford Philomusica Orchestra

IPC is delighted to support the work of Oxford Philomusica, orchestra in residence at the University of Oxford. Peter Earl, IPC’s Managing Director is also the Chairman of the orchestra trust.

During the last twelve years the professional symphony orchestra has become, in the words of the Oxford Times, ‘a musical resource for the city and beyond’. Their year-round programme of classical concerts has attracted consistent critical praise and loyal and growing public support.

Amongst the orchestra’s successes are its outstanding recording of The Creation, which was CD of the Month in BBC Music Magazine; its now annual International Piano Festival and Summer Academy, a week-long celebration of the piano held each August; the Beethoven Festival marking the orchestra’s 10th anniversary; the Dr Haydn, Friends, Forbears and Followers Festival; and its fantastic FUNomusica Family Concerts.

Oxford Philomusica embraces its Arts Council- recognised role to fill ‘an identifiable regional need’, and continues to play its full part in the provision of first-rate orchestral music for the nation.

Worcester College Women and Men’s Rowing Team

IPC are the proud sponsors of the Worcester College Women and Men’s Rowing Team

Worcester College Boat Club is one of Oxford’s largest and most vibrant, often fielding seven or more crews in inter-collegiate regattas. Generous sponsorship from IPC since September 2008 has provided Worcester’s rowers with many opportunities to race outside Oxford, including competing annually in the Head of the River Race, contested by 700 crews across two weekends on the Thames. Within Oxford, Worcester’s reputation as a rowing college continues to grow. In 2010, the women’s First Eight was statistically the best crew over eight days of racing in what was Worcester women’s most successful year ever. In the same year, the men’s First Eight secured their highest finish in Summer Eights - Oxford's premier sporting event - since 1992. The relationship between IPC and Worcester College Boat Club continues to be fundamental to the college’s rowing successes.
